In Part II we started talking about accessing your personal power, but the “on” switch for the entire Personal Branding Series is in knowing you possess an elemental, one of a kind value. This is your power source, because within that value is everything that best and possible about you. The “kill” button of that value is fear. It is the degree to which you let go of your fear that will determine how much you achieve in your network marketing business and in life.
Let’s go into this head on. There are plenty of resources and tools available and easily accessible online and offline for your new business. It’s a matter of educated choice about what fits in with your company, budget, and time schedule. Anyone can get them and you and I can be savvy, model ourselves after someone who is already successful; hey, we can talk the talk. Can’t we? We can be copies of other people; a watered-down version of ourselves. Is that what we want?
Too many of us decide to be the copies instead of the original. Before designing a personal branding imprint, these questions must be identified and answered within each individual. Let’s face it; we have a brand (how others see us) already. It might be passive; i.e. if you will pardon the pun, intelligent design had nothing to do with it. It’s a bit like we didn’t happen to life; life happened to us.
“So if you don’t like the brand that has emerged in your life, now is the time to make some choices and change it. It’s time for you to happen to life.”
There is one thing that sets you apart from the crowd . . . only one. It is magic, dynamite, supercharged, and awesomeness when you know where to find it and have the courage to believe in it.
Even though you have heard this in Biology 101; listen up. Out of the 7 billion people on planet Earth, no one is like you, and there isn’t anyone who has ever lived that has been like you or ever will be in the future! There isn’t anyone who looks like you, thinks like you, or has fingerprints like you. No one else has the same DNA, voice, or skill set. No one can do what you have the ability to do.
You are special, different, and unique. There was a time when one million or so sperm were trying to make it to the finish line and you won!! The loud resounding message is stop trying to fit in when you are literally hard-wired to stand out as a “one of a kind” original winning ticket! Your unique Personal Branding.
It is a strange riddle of sorts that we are one of millions and one in a million, at once. However, it is in going full throttle to be that one in a million that we find our true place; indeed our power “full” success. Add you as the original design to all the tools, resources, and network marketing strategies you decide to utilize and you will have an angle or perspective that is different from anyone else.
Perhaps you will find a different way to train others, or write your own groundbreaking eBook, develop a completely new technique, coin a phrase to perfectly describe an obscure concept that enlightens an entirely new population of networkers, or thousands of other things. I am convinced that it is in being what no one else can that makes the difference whether you or I end up one state over in our beat up Chevy or skyrocketing to the moon!
I’ve spent my time in the Chevy, and I’ve walked on the figurative moon a bit. I learned that moon-walking requires having no fear. Every time I’ve ever messed up in my life, it’s been because I wanted approval, didn’t want to make waves, make anyone angry, and a lot of other things. At the root of it all was hitting the kill button of fear. I committed success suicide!
