It happened again, really? The overwhelming focus was on relationships, not websites, not traffic, not even catch pages. Even more startling was that super successful blogger/internet marketer/network marketer Ray Higdon was visibly shaken by what Jordan Adler said. We’ll get to that.

Day 2 Mastermind Notes

Jonathon Budd– There is a pertinent reason for every challenge. So many times we get kicked in the teeth or fall on our face. Know those things happen for a reason. Don’t look to live an obstacle free life, that will never happen. Understand your challenges are for a bigger purpose.

Deagan Smith– You’re a leader when you say you’re a leader. So many people wait for the knights of the round table to come and proclaim them as leaders. Do you know any knights?

Oprah Winfrey wasn’t always ‘Oprah Winfrey.’ One day she decided to be the star we know today. No one anointed her. She just decided. Every person you see out there in our industry decided to be a leader, they were not appointed by a supreme council.

Jordan Adler– I’ve never had a website. I’ve never generated a lead. I don’t know what traffic is. I’ve made over 14 million in network marketing and never did anything online except for a Facebook page.

You should’ve seen Ray Higdon’s (who happens to be his company’s top income earner) response to this. Here’s what he had to say.. and he was visibly shaken when trying to spit it out.

“The old school methods duplicate, they work, they’re easier, there’s less of a learning curve.” and then his own rebuttal because without it he would have been downing his own business “Now you can do this and internet market too. You can build relationships that way. But it is much harder. But you can do it.”

Remember this isn’t the same without his body language and stuttering. He is really a sincere guy too. It was awkward seeing him so uncomfortable.

Putting It ALL In Perspective

I liken this to the story of the eucalyptus tree and the oak tree. The eucalyptus tree root’s spread out fast and stay on the surface. It’s a fast builder but doesn’t live long. It’s not made for long term sustained growth.

The oak tree drives down a deep tap root. It has a firm foundation that goes deep beyond the surface. It grows slow but it’s designed for the long term.
