I suppose if one wanted to being successful, one might acquire a high paying job, or create their own empire- something better than the world has ever seen, and the world had to have.
But if success were truly to be had, one might first step back and consider what is standing in the way of being successful.
Napoleon Hill said in, Think and Grow Rich, “There is no substitute for persistence. It cannot be supplanted by any other quality.” Therefore your persistence, if you are not already successful, has weaknesses.
Here are two enemies of persistence and how to overcome them
- Failure to recognize and to clearly define exactly what one wants.
We say to ourselves, I need things to come together. When my ship comes in… or, One of these days. It isn’t enough to just want to be successful. You’ve got to ask yourself: “What am I going to do to get the things in life I want?”
A well built house begins with a definite purpose and a set of blueprints. Plan your steps, then implement your plan, then review your results. Do this frequently and make the appropriate alterations to your plan, and you’ll develop the power that will bring you to success.
- Fear of criticism, failure to create plans and put them into action, because of what other people will think, do, or say. It generally exists in one’s subconscious mind, where its presence is not recognized.
Einstein said, The challenges we face cannot be solved at the same level where we created the problem.
If you fear criticism, this fear does NOT belong to you. At some point, maybe as far back as your early childhood, the doubt of others around you has planted the seeds of doubt in your mind. Depending on the mind, those seeds can grow and turn into a tree, but it is not your seed or your tree.
However, It IS your mind.. and you can uproot their influence. Any doubt you feel is not yours. It belongs to them. When you step outside the normal, start a business, do something ‘risky’— the herd always gets uncomfortable.
The Solution
For one week, at the beginning of each day, affirm the blueprints for you house (your riches). I will be a successful business owner. I will attract people who need my services to me and my business. I will communicate effectively with those people. I will sponsor enough of those people to build a profitable business. I will teach others to do the same. I will possess the success I desire.
Once these affirmations have been planted firmly in your mind there will be no room for doubt. The two simply cannot occupy the same space. If you back these affirmations with enough desire, nothing can stop you from being successful.
Sincerely wishing you prosperity,
Michael Stribling
