How awesome it would have been if I had read Ann Sieg’s The 7 Lies of Network Marketing Review when I needed it in 1994. It would have saved me time, money, and considerable frustration. Through her audacious and brilliant ebook, Ann Sieg addresses the wrong methods used by many in network marketing, and, all the while, opens the door to a highly organized, sound, attraction marketing system that seriously ups the ante for networkers and their companies. Ms. Sieg does not mince words as she destroys some of the prevalent faulty practices used by well-intentioned network marketers. The “7 Great Lies” are whoppers:
Lie #1 – Everyone is your prospect.
Lie #2 – This really isn’t sales. We just share products with people.
Lie #3 – Anyone can do this!
Lie #4 – We’ll build your business for you.
Lie #5 – We have the best product ever!
Lie #6 – You just don’t have enough belief!
Lie #7 – The proven system.
She goes for the jugular which I’m certain is offensive to some “old school” networkers. “The 7 Lies of Network Marketing” opens the door to discuss issues that frequently cause the legitimacy of the industry of network marketing to come under fire. It should be faced that what might have worked in the past is not necessarily true in today’s culture.
Ann Sieg’s the “7 Lies” is not a fairy tale book. She speaks boldly about the alarming attrition rate in networking companies, and she is an advocate of NOT trying to sign anyone and everyone to “your” deal; some folks are just not right for network marketing, that goes for family and friends, as well. She states that it is important to have some start-up cash to invest as you begin your business, and that, although your product might be life-altering to mankind, if you don’t use effective marketing “no one will know and no one will care”.
Increasingly the professional networker’s of today are successful college graduates who recognize the unique, viable, and timely entrepreneurial opportunity that 80 percent of us say we are looking for. Technology has opened an entirely new corridor to search through multitudes of folks to find those few that hit the “sweet” spot of being the right fit for the job.
Ms. Sieg provides valuable, free information that explains how to find them. Her material is so clever, well-written, and unique that I couldn’t put it down. She is saying what every network marketer knows to be true, but won’t admit. Additionally, just by reading the free (I said FREE!) “7 Lies”, she is already teaching us about attraction marketing.
It was 2007 when I read “7 Lies” for the first time. In my opinion, Ann Sieg turned a page in a new era of Network Marketing. I signed with my first company in 1994, but before I was a networker, I was a Mass Communications major with a strong entrepreneurial background. Even though I had years of marketing experience, I “cut my teeth” on attraction marketing with Ann Sieg’s free ebook, and stayed with her on the Renegade journey.
The new advances in technology make the industry of Network Marketing more relevant and user-friendly than ever. I am happy to say that “The 7 Lies of Network Marketing” is as innovative today as when I first read it. Network marketing by using internet, social, and mobile media is taking our industry to new heights as sales are rising worldwide to over 100 billion a year. Ann Sieg has a lot to do with that.
At the end of the day, your success will depend on your ability to market your business. If you can market effectively, you’ll be able to generate leads and sponsor enough people to build a profitable business.
My advice is to use Attraction Marketing in your business. If you can combine online Attraction Marketing and solid offline marketing methods, you can very well be on your way to building a prosperous business.
