Amway: The Company
Amway may be the longest running and most successful network marketing and direct sales company ever with more than three million distributors worldwide.
It was founded back in 1959 by Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos in Ada, MI. They formed the company to provide their families and many others with a better lifestyle. Currently the company is managed by their sons Steve Van Andel, who is the Chairman, and Doug DeVos, who serves as President and CEO. In 2008 the company exceeded $8 billion in sales.
Amway – The Product

Amway – The Compensation
How much does it cost to join Amway? To get started earning with the Amway Compensation Plan you’ll need to join Amway as an Independent Business Owner at a cost of $62. This initial fee includes a starter kit that provides start-up information about the business.
There is an optional Amway Product Kit that costs $83.99 that includes full-size products, samples to share and product brochures to introduce the products to customers. Amway also has an Assurance Program that provides a 100 percent money-back guarantee on your business registration fee in the first 90 days after registration.
You’ll be eligible for the Amway Performance Bonuses, driven by sales volume and paying out based on Point Value (PV) and Business Volume (BV). Your monthly total PV determines your Performance Bonus bracket. Business Volume is a dollar value assigned to each product. It’s multiplied by the percent of your PV bracket and determines your Performance Bonus.
As you sponsor other independent business owners you also earn commissions between 3 and 25 percent on your team’s product sales.
There are also Monthly and Annual Bonuses awarded at different levels of the 25 different qualifications used to determine your company rank. The Amway Compensation Plan is very extensive.
As always, your maximizing the comp plan should start with you using the product in your home. If it’s a good fit for you personally then people will recognize that and usually want to try it themselves. If it makes sense for them too, then you’ll likely have a new business partner.
Should you join Amway?
The 50 year Amway track record is proof its legitimacy. The management team is very experienced and the products certainly marketable. Additionally, the compensation plan can be quiet lucrative for the right person.
At the end of the day your success will depend upon a working knowledge of personal branding and your ability to generate a steady stream of quality leads
My advice is to use Attraction Marketing online and other effective offline marketing techniques. If you can do this you’ll be on your way to building a prosperous Amway business.
Sincerely wishing you prosperity,
Michael Stribling
